How to identify or find a font; If you have seen a design, that you liked, and you have asked yourself: what font is it? or if you have it installed and you didn’t know it. Here I have the answer, it is something that I use very often and I hope it will be of great help to you, as it is for me!
How do I view all fonts on my computer?
The best free tool to know what fonts are available on all computers is: Wordmark.
In my case this site works perfectly in internet explorer and chrome, just click on the bottom left of the screen to enable “flash” in the browser. As shown in the image below.
After write a word and press ENTER key, you can see what is the most attractive font and view all fonts that you have installed in your computer at once. It’s wonderful!
Font finder, by loading an image:
- Myfonts, Just upload an image, click the font you want to identify, then check out the results. For best results, upload a good quality image, and make sure the text is horizontal. ( I prefer Trace the text with inkscape, tutorial!)
- whatfontis, in my opinion, is the best tool out there; It has a much larger library of fonts that it searches, in comparison to other.
- Fontspring Matcherator is easy to use, just load the image with the font you want to identify. It also has a very nice design and gives you a better presentation of the names of the fonts you find for you.
- Typekit, load the image into the camera icon, and it will show you the result. The library is a little reduced, but it’s always a good option if you haven’t found the font using the options I showed me before.
