Supplies needed
- Sublimation Earrings
- Hooks
- Sublimation paper
- Heat press
- Butcher paper
- Heat-resistant tape
Design process
First, get the blank sublimation earrings, be sure to remove the clear protective film they have on both sides. Find a design HERE or create one, it is possible to use two techniques to sublimate the earrings depending on the design. The first is a general pattern, just print it as a rectangle or square, making sure it will cover the entire surface. If the design has a part that is not symmetrical, don’t forget to mirror it.
Another way to make a design is if you want to make a more specific design for the earrings and you need the exact size of the earrings just take a picture from above and upload it to silhouette studio. You can scan the shape and then size the design. When doing this make sure to leave a bleed space so that no white space is left on the earring when sublimating.
Once the designs are done, Warm up the heat press at 356 degrees and set it to count 30 seconds. Put some double butcher paper first on the bottom plate, and put the earrings on top. To sublimate these earrings it is necessary to make first one side and then the other.
Sublimation process
Here is the earrings sublimation tutorial itself with some tips to follow! To sublimate the pattern just cut a piece that covers a pair of earrings and places them on the plate with some heat-resistant tape to adhere the pattern to the butcher paper on the sides. When sublimating using the specific design place the blanks of the earrings making sure the design covers all. Adhere each one with some heat-resistant tape.
Remember that the sublimation paper must be in contact with the top heat plate.
Wait for the time to end, and be careful when tearing off the image to avoid ghosting. Now, it is time to repeat the process with the other side. You can sublimate several earrings at the same time, but be sure to give enough space between each one. Remember to change the butcher paper on the bottom plate as well as on the top plate.
Finally, add the hooks, these hooks are easy to attach and do not require any tools, just snap them on and they are ready to use.
