DIY Floating glitter pen! A wonderful way to personalize a pen, super easy to make, in this post is the whole tutorial on how to make this glitter floating pen! There are other ways to customize a pen such as adding to them a Waterslide.

Supplies Needed

First, separate the pieces of the pen and make sure to store each piece in a safe place. So that at the end of the process the pen can work properly when reassembled. Secondly, take the glitter and mix two colors or different types of glitter to make it more personalized. Then take the liquid, there are three different ones on the supply list that will work well.

Grab some mixing cups, or something to mix the glitter and the liquid of choice. Start mixing them together, adding the glitter to the liquid. Make sure the glitter is completely covered by the silicone, otherwise it will clump together.

Adding the glitter

Most importantly, do it faster, otherwise the glitter will settle. Quickly pour the mixture into the pen. Try to use a plastic mixing cup that is reusable and can be folded to add the glitter into the pen more easily. Also, try not to get glitter all over the pen and keep in mind that if it is completely full the glitter will not move.

Probably when doing that some air bubbles will appear. It is possible to leave them because it looks nice when they move with the glitter or it is also possible to remove them. To do this, just sit the pen to the side for a couple of minutes and wait for them to cool down.

Insert the cap that comes with the pens and push it in, this is very important to avoid leaks. if you don’t have the strength in your hand to do it just push it against the table and make sure it is in place. when you hit the line on the rubber cap it is the sign that it is in the right place. After that, clean the surface with alcohol using a pad and let it dry. Then, glue the pieces to make sure they don’t fall apart.

Gluing the floating glitter pen

To glue the pen, use a glue that dries clear, do not use super glue because it will leave a white film. Pick up some glue with a toothpick and gently add it to the top edge. Cover the cap and a bit of the outside plastic and finally glue the pen piece, press and then twist to make sure it is sealed. if the glue squishes, use alcohol and wipe it off. Finally let the pen set for at least 24 hours before using it.

And that’s it! A super easy and fun way to personalize a pen, with this DIY to turn it into a floating glitter pen. Hope this DIY inspires you!
