Cricut tools and when to use them

Cricut has different tools that are useful for creating projects with their machines. Knowing what they are and when to use them will allow us to get the most out of them! Here is a list of the most common and useful Cricut tools!

Weeder

Use the weeder to remove negative cuts in the designs. It helps to get rid of scraps easily. This weeder has an angled tip so it is perfect for removing small negatives.

Scraper

Cutting mats

Cricut has 4 types of cutting mats which are for different functions. In addition, these mats are available in different sizes 12×24 or 24×24. Here are the specifications of each of them:

• Green mat: Is the standard grip mat for cardstock, iron-on, infusible ink, pattern paper and vinyl.
• Purple mat: Is a heavyweight grip mat for chipboard, matboard and thick cardstock .
• Blue mat: Is the lightweight grip mat for things like construction paper, computer paper and vellum.
• Pink mat: The grip mat used for cutting fabrics, cotton, polyester, denim, felt and canvas.
