What a lovely dream to make the classic birth stat elephant using a Cricut machine! It’s a super easy process, and can be used with many other items!

Designing the Birth stat elephant decal with cricut

First of all look for a design or create one with baby themes, birth, dates. At BGArtDesigner.com you will find some designs for this project.To make it the classic birth stat, use information such as date of birth, pounds, time of birth, and also the baby’s name. Try to use a flat surface to add the vinyl, in case you want another surface that is more curved you can try using the cricut hat press or the easy press mini.

You can add in one ear the baby’s information such as height, weight, date of birth and time of birth and in the other ear you can add the name with the desired decorations. It is also possible to play with the colors of the design and cut the pieces in different HTV vinyl colors or textures to customize the birth stat elephant to the next level.

Cutting and pressing

Cut out the design and use trasnfer tape to adhere it to the surface. When using HTV vinyl, it is important to use 100% polyester blanks, otherwise the design will not adhere properly. To adhere the HTV vinyl, first put the item in the protective sheet. Pre-heat the surface with the easy press at 315 degrees for 5 seconds.

Don’t forget to use butcher paper on the surface and design while pressing to protect the heat press.

Then, align the design on the surface and make sure that all the fibers go in the same direction to press it. With everything perfect, it’s time to press the design at 315 degrees for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure and then peel warm the transfer tape.

In case the design has different layers of colors, and you want to adhere them one by one; simply press each layer for a couple of seconds, remove the transfer tape, and repeat the process until all layers are on the surface. Finally, press for the full 30 seconds.
