How to apply HTV to shoes with a cricut

Apply HTV to shoes using a Cricut, customize shoes easily with a Cricut press! To apply HTV to shoes they must be made of cotton or polyester so that the HTV can adhere to them. To do this project the Cricut EasyPress mini will work well.

1. Choose the design

First choose a design to add to the shoes, get an amazing design HERE. Get some silhouettes or words to decorate the shoes. Don’t forget to mirror the design. Get some HTV vinyl and place it on the mat. Remember to place it shiny side down. Finally, weed out the design and get some transfer tape to place the design on the shoes.

2. Prepare the shoes and set the press

It is important to preheat the surface for 10 to 15 seconds, to remove any moisture that may be on the fabric. To press the shoes it is necessary to put some tissues inside them so that the surface is stable and firm. Set the Cricut easy press to 305 for 30 seconds to press cotton shoes using. For the glitter vinyl, set the press to 320 degrees for 10 to 15 seconds.

3. Pressing process

Place the design on the surface and put some tape to hold it in place. then press with the easy press mini by moving it around and giving it a little pressure. You can use your hand to make the shoe firmer, but make sure to hold the shoe with the tissue inside to prevent burns.

If the design has more than one layer to press, press one at a time; but remember to protect each layer of vinyl with butcher paper or a large piece of the carrier sheet; otherwise the vinyl will get burned and damaged. To press on the side of the shoe put tissue inside of the shoe and hold the shoe with your hand and the tissue inside, press in small sections so the vinyl will adhere well.
